School field trip, Kids Course
What it actually looks like
What the children do
A field trip on the Kids Course, for school groups of 15 or more on the same course. The course is a single level reaching up to 15 feet and is built for children between 5 and 12. The minimum height is 3 feet 9 inches, or 114 cm, and children shorter than the 4 foot 8 inch mark needed for the Classic Course can take part on this one whatever their age. Groups are often split across the two courses and the group host helps work out the numbers. The course itself takes 45 to 90 minutes and they say to plan on a half day for a group. The rate is from $22.99 a student plus tax and is lowest Monday to Thursday, which is when most school groups come. Large changes in numbers need three days notice and changes of one or two students need 24 hours.
Get fitted with a harness on the ground and learn how the continuous belay works, then climb up into the trees and make their way from tree to tree across tightropes, cargo nets, wobbly bridges, rope swings and short ziplines, choosing their own route and stopping when they want to.
Good to know
It is all outdoors, with free parking, picnic tables and snacks for sale at Guest Services. There is no indoor alternative, they run in light rain and close and reschedule if it turns unsafe, and washrooms are not mentioned anywhere on the site.
