Our note
It is a full hour on the move with nowhere to sit down, so bring water and think about whether your youngest can manage that. Nobody takes a booking for it, which also means nobody is holding room for a group of twenty against a cap of twenty five. Ring the park operator before you drive out, because the season printed on their page has already finished.

What the children do

A free guided walk along the park's designated trails with a Discover Parks Ambassador, meeting at the Nature House. Discover Parks describes it as a moderate-paced exploration with stops to learn about the park's features, lasting about an hour. It is rated easy, capped at 25 people, and walk-ins are welcome, so there is nothing to book. It ran at 11:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the summer season, June 13 to August 23. Dogs are not allowed on the programme. The Nature House is the meeting point, reached by trail from parking lot 1, from the campground, or from the beach, and by a short trail between campsites 53 and 56.

Walk with an Ambassador in an orange shirt along the park's marked trails for about an hour, stopping where the Ambassador points things out about the park.

Good to know

You meet at the Nature House, which is reached on foot by trail from car park one, from the campground or from the beach. The park has toilets, drinking water, picnic areas and picnic shelters. It is outdoors the whole way and no wet weather alternative is published.

Sources disagree. Their own pages disagree about whether anything happens here. One says the nature house is shut until the summer of 2027. Their list of park programmes marks the free walks and children's sessions as finished, while the page for those same sessions says open and describes them meeting at that building. Worth settling with a phone call before you plan a trip out here.
Washrooms
The park's facility list includes drinking water, a playground, picnic areas, picnic shelters and pit or flush toilets.
Lunch space
The park also has a large day-use and picnicking area. Nothing says whether a group may use the Nature House itself.
