Standing on a board asks more of a child than sitting in a kayak, and neither the length of the tour nor a youngest age is published. Ask about both before you consider it for a group.

What the children do

A guided stand up paddleboard tour that starts by teaching you to paddle a board and then explores the harbour, with the guides pointing out seals, eagles, seaplanes and the landmarks along the waterfront. The published prices are $99 for an adult and $59 for a child aged 10 to 12. No length or start time is published for this one.

The price is published but the length, the start times and the months it runs are not. Nothing is said about washrooms or dry clothes afterwards, and everybody should expect to get wet.

Sources disagree. Two of their pages disagree about whether boat rentals at the downtown dock are running. One says rentals are available from the 1st of May onwards, another says they are closed until spring, and the home page was advertising a discount on rentals. Worth settling on the phone before you plan around a rental.

There is very limited parking at the bottom of Swift Street. City paid parking is available in any spot indicated by a blue ParkVictoria numbered pole. There's a paid lot at the top of Swift Street at 500 Store that's less than a 5 minute walk from the dock.
