What it actually looks like

Our note
This one comes to you, so there is no bus and no travel time to plan. Their page points at middle and high school students, so if your children are younger, ask what they can actually offer before you build a day around it.
What the children do
Ocean Networks Canada runs interactive presentations for schools, either in person at your school or online. They are aligned with the British Columbia public school curriculum and are designed and delivered by ONC's own team of BC certified teachers, covering ocean science, Indigenous knowledge and ONC's ocean data. Booking goes through their online registration system.
Sit together in their own classroom while an ONC teacher works through ocean science, Indigenous knowledge and live ocean data, with interactive parts and questions along the way.
Good to know
The session happens in your own room, so washrooms, lunch and parking are your own. What the site does not say is the cost, how long a session runs or which grades they will take, so ask all three when you register.
Sources disagree. Their page says the presentations are built for middle or high school students, but the teachers quoted on the same page include elementary teachers, and the whole section is called Youth Programs K-12. Ask which grades they will actually take before you plan a session.
