Guided school program at the Nature House
What it actually looks like
What the children do
A 90 minute guided program run by the Discover Parks Ambassadors, meeting at the Goldstream Nature House. The version we could read is the spring one, and it offers three choices: Bird Detectives for K to 3, Feathers, Facts and Field Science for grades 4 to 7, and Field Science in Action for grades 8 to 12. The fee is $150 per program slot, and one booking covers one adult with one class of 25 students, so two classes means two bookings. Teachers reserve a date and time through the Book Now button on the page and then complete a separate booking form, and the confirmation only comes once both are done. The page says the activity ended on May 15, 2026, so the dates on it have passed.
Meet at the Nature House, then head out into the park with an Ambassador to look for birds, watch how they behave and count what they see, with story time for the youngest groups and note taking for the older ones.
Good to know
Send everyone to the washrooms at the day use picnic shelter first, because the Nature House has very few stalls. It is a 750m walk down from the day use area, about ten minutes, and that path is the one route a wheelchair can take.
