What it actually looks like
Photos from National Toy Museum of Canada's website
Our note
Everything is behind glass and there is no touching at all, which is a lot to ask of under fives in a room full of toys. The entrance is through a working toy shop, so a group walks past the merchandise on the way in and out. Contact them for a class rate before you go, because only the walk in prices are published.
What the children do
A self guided walk through the museum displays at the back of the shared space with Cherry Bomb Toys. The published admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, $5 for youth 14 and under, and $25 for a family pass covering two adults and up to four youths. Access 2 cards are accepted. The site says to contact the museum for group rates for school classes, so a class may pay less than the walk in price. Nothing may be touched and photos, video and live streaming are not allowed.
Walk through a small museum at the back of a toy shop and look at cases of toys from different eras, dolls and retro gaming consoles, without handling anything.
Good to know
Open every day from 11 am to 5 pm, with children 14 and under at $5 and a class rate available on request. Washrooms, a lunch spot, step free access and how big a group they can take are not stated on the site, so ask before you book.
