Our note
This one is written for high school, so it is the wrong fit for a daycare or the early primary years. It stays in your own classroom and needs nothing more than desks and about an hour and a half.
What the children do
A classroom workshop listed by the organisers under high school workshops. It covers the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, how people can contribute to them and why sustainability matters. It is a presentation followed by an activity in the style of Dragon's Den in which students pitch sustainable ideas for their own community. The site says it runs about 1.5 hours and can be shortened or lengthened to fit the class's timetable.
Sit through a presentation on the 17 goals, then work up a sustainable idea for their own town and pitch it to the room.
Good to know
Everything happens in your own room, so the practical side is entirely yours. The site does not say which grades it is pitched at beyond calling it a high school workshop, so ask when you book.
