Visit to the Nature House
What it actually looks like
What the children do
A free, self guided visit to the Nature House building, reached from the day-use area parking lot and sitting right across from the park amphitheatre. Discover Parks describes bones, interactive digital displays, ceiling murals and a small shop with frozen treats, and says friendly Park Ambassadors are there to answer questions about the park's plants and animals. They rate it easy, list no maximum group size and allow dogs on a leash. The building is the hub for Jerry's Rangers, guest speakers and free kids' movie nights in the summer. It was listed as closed for the season when we checked, with a note about reopening in summer 2027.
Go inside the one room building and look at the bones and the display cases, try the interactive digital displays and the Mystery Box, and look up at the orcas painted across the ceiling.
Good to know
You reach it from the day-use car park, where there is parking and there are washrooms. The park has picnic areas and picnic shelters for lunch. Nothing says whether a bus can park or whether the building is step free, so ask.
