What it actually looks like
Photos from Miniature World's website
Our note
It is all behind glass, so this is a looking visit and not a touching one. It sits inside the Empress on a busy street with almost no parking, so plan how you will drop off and pick up. The site never says how long a class should allow or how many adults have to come, so ask when you phone.
What the children do
A self guided walk through the dioramas at a group rate. The published admission is $22.50 for adults, $15.25 for youth 13 to 17, $11.25 for children 5 to 12 and free for tots 0 to 4. Groups of 5 to 9 paying guests take $1.00 off each admission and groups of 10 or more take $1.50 off each, so in a group of ten a child aged 5 to 12 pays $9.75 and an adult pays $21.00. All admissions are subject to 5% tax. Book through the online booking page or phone them.
Walk from one lit glass case to the next at their own pace, looking at model trains crossing trestle bridges, dollhouses, castles, a circus ground and a spaceship, with sound and moving parts to watch.
Good to know
Fully indoors, open every day, and a little cheaper per person once you have five in the group. Washrooms, a lunch spot, step free access and bus parking are not mentioned anywhere on the site, so it is worth a call.

Bus parking
As we are located on a busy street with little to no parking, we recommend leaving your vehicle at one of the multiple downtown parkades for your convenience. The nearest parkades are located at 743 View street and at 575 Yates street, both a five minute walk from our location.
