What it actually looks like

Our note
This is the way in if a Sunday morning does not suit you or your group is too small for the school field trip. No price is published anywhere, so ask for it in the same message you use to ask about dates. Doing the two museums on separate days costs extra, so try to fit both into one visit.

What the children do

Museum curators also show small groups round the Pioneer Museum by appointment, outside the Sunday opening hours. The tour covers the Rocky Point stagecoach, artifacts from a pioneer kitchen, bedroom and parlour, early photographs, and farm and logging implements. It can be paired with the Society's Schoolhouse Museum on the same day, or booked separately, in which case the site says there is a cost for the second day. The price itself is not published. You ask about dates through a form on their site.

Walk through the converted barn with a curator, looking at the stagecoach, the recreated pioneer rooms, old photographs and the farm and logging tools, and hearing what each one was used for.

Good to know

Booking goes through a form on their site and no phone number or email is published, so allow time for a reply. The price, the group size they can take and whether you can eat on site are all unstated for this tour.
