Our note
This is the only one of the four topics written for the youngest classes. The price is for the whole booking rather than per child, so a class of 12 pays the same as a class of 30. Adults may be given a job to do during the stations, so bring people who are happy to join in.

What the children do

A 90 minute school program about where fresh water comes from, the water cycle, and pollution. Children consider how the oceans and water are connected to them and what keeps water clean, and the museum says they leave with tangible ways to keep the ocean healthy. It is offered at the museum for $150 for the group, or in your own classroom for $200. Up to 30 students per program.

Children start together in the middle of the room for a land acknowledgement and a presentation, doing activities as a group along the way. They then split into two groups and rotate through stations, before coming back together at the end to talk about what they found.

Good to know

Ninety minutes for up to 30 children, with a washroom and a baby change table on site and step free access for standard wheelchairs. There is no lunch room and nothing published about bus parking, so plan where to eat and where the bus waits.

Washrooms
We have a gender inclusive, single stall washroom available that has a baby change table. While this should be large enough for a standard wheelchair to fit in, a motorized wheelchair will not.
Lunch space
While we don't offer food or beverages for sale, you're more than welcome to bring along non-messy snacks.
