Our note
This one comes to you and depends on one person's diary, so ask well ahead about dates. Have the class prepare questions, because the open question time is the bulk of the hour.

What the children do

A 60 minute classroom programme that introduces students to the work of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly with the Honourable Raj Chouhan. After a short introduction to the work of the Legislature, the Speaker takes open questions from the students. Enquiries go to the Parliamentary Education Office by email.

Sit in their own classroom while the Speaker talks about what the Legislature does, then put their own questions to him.

Good to know

A 60 minute visit to your classroom. The cost, how far they will travel and how much notice they need are not published, so email the education office.

Sources disagree. Three of their pages give three different phone numbers for tour enquiries. They are 250 387 9243 on the school tours page, 250 387 1771 on the Little Legislators page and 250 387 6668 on the general tour information page. Email tours@leg.bc.ca is given consistently on all three, so that is the safer first try.
Washrooms
If possible, plan to use washrooms prior to your arrival as the public washrooms in the Parliament Buildings are not well suited to large groups. If it is not possible, please let your guide know that you would like a washroom break included as part of the tour.
