Our note
Two hours in a kayak is a long stretch for younger children and there is no published minimum age - ask what the youngest paddler they will take is before you plan around it. Budget one adult per ten children as the club requires, and assume everyone comes off the water wet.
What the children do
A two-hour guided ocean kayak session for a booked group at $35 per person. The minimum number of paddlers is 6 and the maximum is 29, and FGPC provides one guide for every 10 to 12 registrants plus all paddling and safety equipment. Guides provide safety coverage and accompany groups at all times. The same $35 per person rate is published for general guided groups and for guided school groups; school bookings require one adult chaperone or teacher for every ten participants. Whether the rate includes GST is not stated.
Children put on a lifejacket, get into a kayak with a paddle and stay on the water for two hours with FGPC guides alongside them the whole time.
Good to know
Kayaks, paddles and lifejackets are supplied and a guide stays with every 10 to 12 paddlers. Washrooms, changing space, indoor lunch space and a wet-weather plan are not stated on the site - worth a call.
