What it actually looks like

Our note
There is no school or daycare rate here, so budget the public drop-in price and remember that under-fives get in free. The under-seven rule is what will shape your day: every child under 7 needs an adult in the water within arms' reach, which in practice is close to one adult per child, so ask the pool what they will accept before you commit. Phone ahead as well, because the pool closes to the public during swim lessons and the printed schedule on the site has run out.

What the children do

There is no school, daycare or group swim rate published and no group booking route, so a group pays the public drop-in price. That is $3.50 for a child aged 5 to 12, $3.50 for a youth 13 to 18, $6.50 for an adult 19 to 59, and free for children under 5. The pool and fitness studio close to the public during swimming lessons, and Monday to Friday from 6:00 to 10:00am is an adult-only session when children cannot use the shallow tank or the tot pool.

Swim in the main pool or the shallow tot pool, with a hot tub and a sauna in the same room. Any child under 7 stays within arms' reach of an adult who is in the water with them. Groups change in one of four universal changerooms.

Good to know

The pool is indoors with four universal changerooms set up for a portable lift, and the child and adult drop-in prices are published. Whether there is anywhere for a group to eat, whether a bus can park, and how many adults a group of small children has to bring are not stated, so it is worth a call.

Sources disagree. Their own pages disagree about the weekend. The facility listing shows the pool open Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, while their pool questions page says it is closed Saturday afternoons and all day Sunday. Worth settling on the phone before you plan a weekend visit.
