Our note
This is the only published program with a built-in movement break, which helps at the younger end of its Grade 1-4 range. There are still 87 stairs and no elevator, and strollers have to stay in the vehicle.

What the children do

In-person program for Grade 1-4 students comparing Victorian-era life with life today. The tour includes a 10-minute movement break where students learn a Victorian dance, plus an object analysis activity. In-person programming is priced by age band: Children (4-11) $8.00, Youth (12-17) $12.00.

Tour the Castle's rooms with a guide, take a 10-minute break to learn and dance a Victorian dance, then look closely at an artifact and record what they observe.

Good to know

Lunch happens outside on the covered veranda or South Lawn and buses park on Joan Crescent. The site does not say whether there are washrooms for groups, how large a group can be, or how much notice is needed.
