Group visit
What it actually looks like
What the children do
The museum is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday and its displays cover the early development and history of the region, with a temporary exhibit area alongside. The current display is about life in Comox in 1945 and 1946. The site does not describe school or daycare programs, a group rate, a booking route for groups or how far ahead to ask, so a group visit has to be arranged by phone. One of their own news posts describes a group of children coming in for a museum art tour, so children's groups have been hosted before even though nothing is advertised.
Walk through the museum rooms and look at wall panels of photographs, documents and objects about the early history of Comox, plus whatever is in the temporary exhibit area at the time.
Good to know
Nothing is published about toilets, somewhere to eat lunch, or parking for a bus, and the museum never says what it charges. One phone call would settle all of it before you commit.
