Our note
Ten tickets is the ceiling, so this covers a small group rather than a whole class. Apply at least two weeks out and name the exact performance, and count on it being a request rather than a booking until they reply.

What the children do

Free tickets for organisations working with people who face financial, social, cultural or physical barriers to attending live theatre. Educational organisations and community and social services organisations are both eligible. Apply at least two weeks before the performance you want, naming the exact date and production. A maximum of 10 tickets per group is considered, subject to availability, and an organisation may receive tickets for up to two productions a season. Priority goes to organisations that have not been to the Chemainus Theatre before. The theatre says it replies within two to three business days.

Sit in the auditorium and watch a professional play, with an intermission part way through when they can get out of their seats.

Good to know

Same building as any other performance, so there is a lift, reserved accessible seating and coach parking a few blocks away. Toilets and lunch space are not mentioned anywhere on the site.

Sources disagree. Two of their pages give a different booking fee on each ticket. One says $3.00 and the other says $3.15. It is small money, but multiply it by a class and ask the box office which figure they are charging.
