Our note
Two hours with an experiment in the middle, so it suits a class that can settle for a sit-down segment. The museum will not extend the block for a late arrival and charges in full for no-shows.

What the children do

Curriculum-linked museum program for Grade 6 and 7 classes exploring how flight is possible in a world of gravity. Students are introduced to Bernoulli's Principal and the effect of balanced and unbalanced forces, conduct an experiment to see it in action, then use museum displays to reinforce what they discovered. Booked as a morning visit (10am to 12pm) or an afternoon visit (12:30pm to 2:30pm); the published rate is $8.50 per student with no charge for adult supervisors.

Learn Bernoulli's Principal, then run an experiment to see it in action before going back out to the museum displays to check what they found.

Good to know

The museum is wheelchair accessible, parking on site is free and adult supervisors are admitted free. Washrooms, indoor lunch space, maximum group size and the minimum booking notice are not stated on the site, so ask when you email.

Sources disagree. Their pages give different opening hours. Some list one time year round, others list shorter winter hours. Check the day you are going before you set off.
