Our note
The slot is fixed: the museum will not run past your booked block if the bus is late, and it asks groups not to arrive more than 15 minutes early because the entry area cannot hold a class. In fair weather it expects groups to wait in the front garden until start time.
What the children do
Curriculum-linked museum program for preschool to Grade 1 classes. Students are introduced to selected Museum displays and challenged to determine how an airplane is able to fly, then each build a glider and experiment with the properties that influence flight. Booked as a morning visit (10am to 12pm) or an afternoon visit (12:30pm to 2:30pm).
Look at selected museum displays and work out what an aeroplane needs in order to fly, then build a glider each and experiment with the properties that change how it flies.
Good to know
The museum is wheelchair accessible, parking on site is free and adult supervisors are admitted free. Washrooms, indoor lunch space, maximum group size and the minimum booking notice are not stated on the site, so ask when you email.
Sources disagree. Their pages give different opening hours. Some list one time year round, others list shorter winter hours. Check the day you are going before you set off.
