Our note
Not bookable ahead and $25 a head, so treat it as an add-on a few older students might queue for rather than something you can build a trip around. Ask on the day whether the weather has cancelled it.

What the children do

A 45-minute guided look at the Hawaii Mars and its flight deck, offered every Saturday at 11am and 1pm for ages 12+. Places are limited and first-come, first-served; the museum does not accept pre-bookings, so this cannot be reserved for a class. Tours are weather dependent and will be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Go up on to the flight deck of the Hawaii Mars water bomber with a guide for a 45-minute close look at the aircraft and its cockpit.

Good to know

Runs only on Saturdays and only for ages 12 and over, with no pre-booking and no group rate published. Washrooms and lunch space are not mentioned anywhere on the site.

Sources disagree. Their pages give different opening hours. Some list one time year round, others list shorter winter hours. Check the day you are going before you set off.
