Animation Lab, ages 10 to 13
What it actually looks like
What the children do
A six week after school stop motion animation class for children aged 10 to 13, taught by Joshua Eliaou Tuil. Children make characters, build simple scenes and turn them into short animated sequences using clay animation, paper cut outs and pixilation. Each participant must have access to a camera and a tripod or camera stand, and a phone camera works. Fridays 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm, 11 September to 16 October 2026. The fee covers one child for the whole series.
Build characters and small sets on a table, move them a fraction at a time and photograph each frame, and sometimes step in front of the camera and become the animated character themselves. By the end each child has a short film.
