Museum and library visit
What it actually looks like
No photographs published on Alert Bay Public Library & Museum’s site.
What the children do
The museum and gift shop are open to visitors during library hours, Tuesday to Saturday from 1 to 4. The site shows a sample of the artifacts on display: a carved seine boat, a Mungo Martin carving, a net mending bench, a small totem pole, a sunset with seine boat and woven baskets. No admission price, group rate, guided tour, minimum age, group size or booking route is published anywhere on the site, so a group visit has to be arranged by phone or email with the librarian.
Look at the local history displays in the museum, among them a carved seine boat, a carving by Mungo Martin, a net mending bench, a small totem pole and woven baskets, then the gift shop and the library in the same building.
Good to know
The address, coordinates, phone, email and the 1 to 4 opening hours are published. Washrooms, somewhere to eat, parking, accessibility, whether there is a charge and whether groups need to book are not stated anywhere, so call before you plan the day.
